If you are happy with some of our suggestions, we will start to guide you through any planning permission and Building Regulation applications needed for us to start work.

PLANNING PERMISSION AND BUILDING REGULATIONS
Most home extensions won’t need planning permission because the work can sit under your Permitted Development Rights.
However, it is always a good idea to check with your local authority so that you can have any required permissions in place before building.
Permitted Development Rights criteria that need to be met include:
- It is a single-storey rear extension that extends up to 4m from the original house for detached homes or 3m for other house types. With prior approval, these can be 8m and 6m, respectively.
- It is a single-storey side extension with a maximum height of 4m and is no more than half the width of the original house.
- It is a two-storey extension that isn’t closer than 7m to the rear boundary.
There are a few circumstances where you might need planning permission. This is when:
- Your property is a listed property or in a designated area or conservation area.
- The extension covers more than half your property’s land.
- It exceeds height restrictions or extends beyond the front of the house.
All house extensions must comply with Building Regulations. This is something our team will deal with as we work. Building Regulations will cover:

We had our double garage previously “Insulated” and ply covered but it went damp and mouldy over the winter time even with an extraction system in place! I called for quotes and Lory came around and gave us a quote for doing the job correctly, we accepted this and away they went.All I can say is that the job has been completed and I cannot recommend Lory and the crew that did a fantastic job, battening and then lining the whole garage and plaster boarding the whole room followed by a plaster finish to make this ‘room’ sealed and complete. The Conversion Kings converted our existing garage into a garden room and separate ‘man cave’. They were fantastic. They were able to take the project on in amazingly fast time, arriving early on the first morning and working through to get it completed really efficiently. Lory was good enough to take time out of his working day to come look at a property we are purchasing, to help price up roughly the work that needed doing as well as giving us an idea of what could be done. He was quick to reply to all my emails and I really appreciate the time he took out of his day to give his opinion.
